Yes in a conservation area anything over 6 inches in diameter at the base you need permission for unless it is deemed dead or dangerous

Yes you do. Anything above 75mm wide diameter main stem  at 1.5 meter needs permission to do any with unless you are removing dead branches

Hi yes so you would need to apply for permission from your local council to have work done on the tree which usually takes around 4-6 weeks if it’s been longer than that and you have informed them but with no response you should be able to start working
