Do I need a lintel?

Hi, I want to put a new window into a poured concrete house (1960s). My question is, do I need to put a lintel in?
Thanks in advance

"Not on the outset. Engineers drawings should be examined regarding what's above . If the window is 1200mm or smaller I'm sure it would be OK."

"HI ,
Indeed lintel is mandatory to all doors and windows surrounds. This is to support brickwork and also to disallow further pressure to occur in future. Definitely recommending to all kinds of wall penetrations ."

"I would always suggest getting a lintel. You can always tell if the brickqork is slightly bowed at the top of the window"

"yes it will need a lintel as when you remove the concrete you will compromise the integrity of the concrete above the opening"

"For making sure just fit lintel and that’s all
Cause u don’t know what’s going on in top of the window opening area so just fit the lintel on"
