"An annual service on a basic intruder alarm system or CCTV system is recommended. This will ensure all firmware is up to date and batteries have been replaced where necessary.
If the systems are monitored and have police response included, two annual service visits would be required.
Automated gates and access control systems vary depending on the usage."

"I would always recommend a service to be carried out once a year at least to make sure everything is working and is better to service it before it breaks then leaving it until it breaks."

"Hi Adam
It is not 100% necessary for all systems but it is advisable to make sure all your triggers are working correctly, or if your back up battery is working correctly and Sounders are doing what they should be, basically I would advise it.

Best regards

"If you have an IP CCTV any updates can be done remotely. It is advisable that once a year you give your camera lens a quick wipe if it is going blurry this could be due to insects and birds. Apart from that modern equipment does not need it"

"Professionally installed systems do need to be serviced and tested on a regular basis to ensure correct operation of detectors, sounders and batteries. It is also an opportunity to pick up on potential false activation hazards."
