Torch on should be a 3 layer system of underlay and mineral also the thickness of the felt is usually a good indicator if its good quality cheap torch on is thin and tears easy therefore will not last long

Firstly you will put your drips around the perimeter of the roof then You have a 3 layer felt system so you will have an underlay which is tacked or stapled to the pan board then the second layer of felt will be torched onto that and then the final layer which is your roof grade green mineral felt will be torched on top

Three layers is the rule of thumb.
Use a trusted tradesman / Roofer / Flat Roofer.
It’s always a good idea to do a bit of homework, feedback checks etc ,before going ahead with a tradesman
( if they are any good they will not mind at all )

Bitumen paint, torch on underlay, then torch on top felt will be the best option if you are foing for torch kn felt

3 layer system we prefer to primed before application to ensure a better adhesion  all walls upstands etc should be primed too

Iv been doing roofing for years and grp fibre glass roof is the best way to go when installing a new flat roof it comes with a twenty five year warranty but will last years longer avoid putting a felt roof on as the price is not much different

A 3-layer system is the go to, the first layer being breathable to allow the roof to breathe and prevent condensation/mould, with a middle layer and a mineral top layer to provide weather protection/waterproofing, most systems hold a manufactures guarantee of fifteen years or so.
