Damp over concrete floor

In our groundfloor back bedroon we have a concrete floor with bitumen top, laid on 1978. A damp patch has appeared in the middle of the carpet. There is no staining on the ceiling above so it seems to be coming from below. Is this possible? The bitumen seems sound, but has white blobs of mould on it.

"It is either coming from a leaky pipe, possibly radiator or the damp proof membrane is compromised.
Prob best to roll carpet back and investigate from there."

"I honestly don’t know sorry, there should be a damp proof membrane , which will be the bitchimum, put a de-humidifier in the room and the should draw any moisture out the room, why after over fourteen years of use has the floor became damp now, ? There must be water leaking somewhere, hope this has been of some help to you, kind regards walter"
