"Hello Mark,

I'd suggest getting a screw removed bit. That will be the best way of getting the screw out.

You can pick them up online cheap as chips. That will allow you remove it easily"

"A screw removal bit is your best option. They are cheaper to buy from a hardware store."

"Use a screw removal bit....they are easy to use,you drill into the screw a little, and then the bit is used to bite into the fresh meat exposed in the screw"

"Either put a flat head into the screw and tap ot a few times until it binds, then turn it.
Or remove the handles then get a pair of one grips on the cylinder then snap it."

"Screw Extraction bit that fits into your drill, removes all damaged screws leaving the inside thread intact."

"Ideally replace the screw… otherwise, if it’s a slotted screw using a junior hacksaw, run it through the slot s few times to help screwdriver grip."

"I'd recommend a screw extractor it's less invasive, but if you're already replacing the cylinder and the handles then just snap it."
