"The short answer is yes; most air purifiers on the market are designed to remove large dust particles from the air."

"No a air purifier wouldn't get rid of dust only an extraction fan or possibly a dehumidifier hope this helps"

"It won't 'prevent' the dust, but it filters the large dust particles making the air quality much better, removing the dust in the air, therefore better air quality."

"Yes, air purifiers can help reduce dust in your home, which can be beneficial for children with allergies. Air purifiers are designed to capture and filter out airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet dander, and more. Here’s how they work:

1. HEPA Filters: Many air purifiers use High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, which can trap particles as small as 0.3 microns. This includes most common allergens like dust mites and their waste products.
2. Pre-filters: Some air purifiers have pre-filters that capture larger particles, including visible dust, before they reach the HEPA filter. This helps prolong the life of the HEPA filter.
3. Circulation: Air purifiers circulate the air in a room, continually passing it through the filters, which can gradually reduce the dust concentration over time."

"Air purifiers will certainly help, they tend to capture the dust circulating in the air and prevent those particles from becoming a problem, use this combined with regular vacuum and dust / furniture polishing and you will reduce the symptoms."

"Air purifiers can help reduce the amount of dust particles in the air, but they may not entirely prevent dust from entering your indoor environment. Air purifiers are designed to capture and filter airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet dander, and other allergens. By doing so, they can improve indoor air quality and create a cleaner living space.

However, it's important to note that air purifiers may not be able to eliminate all dust particles, especially larger or heavier particles that settle quickly. Regular cleaning and dusting of surfaces, along with good housekeeping practices, are still important to effectively manage and reduce dust in your home.

Choosing the right type of air purifier and maintaining it properly can contribute to a healthier indoor environment by minimizing dust and other airborne pollutants.

"Yes, they not only prevent dust but can also purify dust and allergens that are already present. The best use HEPA filters. We use these in many of our cleaning jobs. HEPA filters work by trapping dust and allergens, even viruses like COVID-19, and then sending out cleaner, purified air. They will definitely help your children breathe more easily.
As well as purifiers, we also use air scrubbers, which are more for commercial use as they scrub the air over larger areas.
Household purifiers should do the trick for you, but be sure to go for HEPA filters."
