Changing my home's locks to work with one key

I'd like to change all my home's locks to work with one key for convenience but does this have any downsides in terms of security?

"You will need to go to an architectural ironmonger and ask them to make locks for you which are keyed alike"

"Hi Micheal. Thanks for the question. No downside in my opinion, a thief would still need to gain entry to each lock separately unless they had the key, in which case they would only need to access one lock/door. Hope this helps"

"If you choose to change all the locks with a low security locks, then your security will be affected of course, if you choose a 3* high security door locks with snap protection, anti drilling, anti picking, won t matter that much if you have only one key, will just make it more comfortable for you and choosing the right locks you will have security."

"If your key is lost and found by someone who may attempt to use it if they know your address, it poses the same risk as having locks with separate keys.

Not much added security risk.

I would recommend Hugh security cylinders though.

Happy to help with this and get the locks all keyed-alike."

"Hi Michael, no downside to security but if you lose your keys you have to change all locks"

"Hi

There's no downsides to the security besides if one key is lost then there's a key to the whole property out there somewhere. Someone would still need to know what property it's for.

The other thing to pay detail to is where you're getting the locks done. British standard locks lose there British standard once they're changed. The correct companies will allow this to remain as they've been tested and passed."

"If you lose the keys you would have to change all the locks if however you had different keys for different doors then you only have to change that one lock"
