Looking to turn my separate toilet and bathroom into one room there is tiling the one side of the wall along with a radiator. Wanted to know the cost of removing the wall and what the cost would be to redo the bathroom also, room would be small to medium size ,thanks.

Why do the pipes make a noise when the washing machine is filling

Hello, We have quite a newly built bathroom (coming up to a year on this new build and April past was the first year of completion.) However we looked and there is water leaking where the tub/tile meets the wall on the other side of the shower door near the shower head. After troubleshooting it appears to not be a leak (bathroom contractor confirmed) and a sealant problem with where the top of the tub meets the tile. Now the issue is plumber just put another layer of sealant on top of the current one on shower side as well as on where the door connects to the wall (although this wasn't the issue as it was bone dry). I've been reading that you should remove sealant first before applying again, should I be worried? The wall where the leaking was occuring is lightly damaged and now needs fixing (bathroom contractor said he can do that in future but would charge, which seems a bit strange as sealant failed after less than a year of use.) Just want some opinions on the whole situation.

Is it normal for a block of flats to have just one overflow ? Affinity water have been called out because the overflow is dripping and by the mess of the wall it’s been leaking for some time. Water company have said it’s my flat that’s leaking due to my excessively high water usage. I live alone and in Oct I was usually 477 litres a day which is very high considering I’m out all day. However since Oct I’m now usually approximately 1200 litres a day which is crazy. Hence water company saying the leak is mine. I’m struggling to understand how it’s possible to use this much water and why there is only one overflow for a block flats. Any advise /help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my elderly neighbour has just has 2 gas fires condemned and I wou,d like to help her get at least one replacement. Is there different sizes, power ratings? I know one has a back boiler and one doesn’t.

Hi, My small loft header tank in the loft is overflowing when the hot water/heating is switched on. It’s fine when the heating/water are off, but starts up again when it comes on again. It started with a few drips a few weeks ago to a slow flow now, which lasts for about 10-15 minutes when the heating/water initially comes on and then stops dripping again. Any ideas?

It’s a mixer tap but only the hot tap drips. Cold is fine. You have to turn the hot tap handle really tight to stop it and then it’s a pain to turn back on next time.

What is the average hourly rate for a plumber and time scale to fit a kitchen sink unit and cabinet change?

I am buying a bungalow where I want to relocate the living room radiator to the other side of the room, the flooring is laminate floor. Can it be done by a tradesman without damaging the floor or do I need to get multi trades in to complete the job. I don’t want pipe work all around the skirting as I want it done properly.

The floor’s being redone at the same time and I’m not sure how much flexibility there is before it starts causing problems with plumbing or panels. With all the building regs these days, wondering if that also comes into play?
