    1970s plasterboard sandwich panel-water resistance

My bathroom wall is old-style cardboard and plaster sandwich board. It's been soaked from above by a boiler leak and I wondered if the cardboard in the middle is compromised. I can't see it drying out very well and I'm concerned about mould as well as structural strength

    Plastered walls issues

Hi I will appreciate any advice. I had full 2 bedroom renovation done in November/December 2020. All walls and ceilings skimmed, plastered and painted white. Now straight after the paint dry there were few cracks visible on the ceiling and down the wall corners. Now 4 months on on my hall wall plaster is coming off and paint is fleaky from right on the middle to the bottom, now behind this wall is a bathroom shower with wet wall. ( There is no visible leak, no water on the floor, shower battery is fitted opposite to the wall with issues) Could there be possible leak behind wet wall or the plastered wall isn't done correctly? I am not sure if I could post a picture to visualise my problem. Thanks in advance

    Moisture resistant plasterboard

Is it essential that I use moisture resistant plasterboard in a bathroom? I understand there are a few other options such as aquapanel, or is that just a brand name?
