  • advice on fitting a radiator by myself

Can I fit a radiator by myself? Is it safe to do so? What sort of equipment and safety precautions should I take if it is viable for me to install a radiator.

    Electric boiler/water tank & heaters

We are looking to buy a property but they currently have old electric wall heaters and an outdated electric combi boiler with water tank. We dont plan to change to gas combi but would be looking to install a new electric combi boiler and water tank and remove all of the old heaters and replace them with newer electric radiators that are essentially plug in and use. The current bathroom has a bad and basic electric shower but we plan to rip this out and only have a walk in shower so we need a suitable boiler for this use We are looking for information on approximate costs to source and install a new electric boiler and water tank and remove all the old heaters safely.

Price for a gas replacement boiler

I have an old heat only boiler and want to upgrade. I have a Geledhill tank, pump, valves etc. I have so much mixed info and huge quotes @ £4k that want to replace the pump, valves etc etc. And I also have advise that says remove all kit and install a combi boiler. What do the experts think ? The quotes are huge for both, and they want to add / not include a power flush and fancy thermostat. The quotes also add on the cost of a magna filter, not included but added as extra!, Is this correct? I have a thermostat already ,not TRVs granted but at £40 per rad ( 7 rad) it’s seems extremely high. Thanks in advance

Can I put a heat pump in an older house?

There seems to be a lot of debate about whether heat pumps work in older homes. What does an old house need for one to work effectively?
