Hello We have had a combi installed which has replaced our old conventional boiler. We have however had lots of problems with the new boiler. There are strange noises coming from the boiler & also problems with the water pressure. If I put taps on it causes the bath hot tap to come on. The stream of water coming out of the kitchen hot tap was so fierce we could not turn the tap off so are no longer using the hot tap in the kitcen. The engineer insists it is just because we have old taps and is going to replace the taps. The main issue is that he did the boiler installation in a day with a colleague. I am worried about whether they took any shortcuts but don't know enough about this. Please advise as to whether you think this is just to do with the taps or whether it could be a problem with the boiler installation. Everything worked OK with the old boiler.
Should I have smart heating controls fitted? Can they be added to an existing heating system?
Could anyone recommend a decent engineer that could carry out a service on these systems , as there Doesn’t seem to be many engineers at present around that can or are knowledgable enough to do one . Help and advice would be greatly appreciated as winters nears Many thanks

But after the heating off, the pressure came down to 1 and sometime even lower than 1 need to top up again what will the problem with it and how to fix it

Which type of boiler is the easiest to maintain over time? Does it depend on the quality of the product?
How long should water stay warm with a gas boiler before cooling down again? I want to know how long I should expect the water to stay hot after heating up to use a shower at some point later that day.
We are looking to buy a property but they currently have old electric wall heaters and an outdated electric combi boiler with water tank. We dont plan to change to gas combi but would be looking to install a new electric combi boiler and water tank and remove all of the old heaters and replace them with newer electric radiators that are essentially plug in and use. The current bathroom has a bad and basic electric shower but we plan to rip this out and only have a walk in shower so we need a suitable boiler for this use We are looking for information on approximate costs to source and install a new electric boiler and water tank and remove all the old heaters safely.
On average, what does a heating engineer earn in the UK, both per hour, and annually? Does it vary greatly across the UK?
