I am based in Liverpool and I’d like to hire a heating engineer to sort out a radiator. Basically, the issue is that it's cold in different spots. How much will it likely cost to hire a professional to come out and fix this problem? Is it likely to be a small issue or might it be more serious? Any of your thoughts/advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated as the more I know/have in mind before hiring anyone, the easier everything could be.
I had a smart meter fitted and now my shower only has hot water for 10 mins. Can this be related to my fusebox?
How can I check that my heating system is suffering from corrosion?
How long do boilers last on average before they generally need a replacement? Is there a legal limit as to how many years a boiler may be used for?
We are buying a house, and are interested in seeing if it's in our budget to put in underfloor heating in the main rooms downstairs. The family room is 22x16, Kitchen is 14x10 and the downstairs bedroom/bath is 21 x 8. Thanks in advance.
I recently installed a PIV unit in the loft, however this has now made the hallway and landing very cold. I have already adjusted the unit to the lowest setting to optimise humidity management and can’t go any lower. I was thinking about whether an additional radiator at the top of the stairs would help or would a larger radiator in the hallway be just as effective? It is currently only a single panel 600x600. I was thinking I could swap this for a double or triple panel of the same size. Which would be the better option in this scenario?
Can you explain to me the differences between a commercial and domestic heating engineer? Do they need different licenses/qualifications or/and other requirements? Can one type of heating engineer do both types of work, legally speaking?
We had a radiator installed a few months ago (Oct 2024) and all was going well - over the past few days we’ve had a LF code come up on our boiler which seems to resolve itself after resetting the boiler. Today the boiler would not resolve the LF code after resetting the boiler until we have turned off the new radiator that was installed. Any ideas? Initially when the new radiator was installed we had a issue with the boiler itself after the system was bled (this was resolved after cycling the boiler a few times)
Currently my Wired thermostat is located stupidly out my my lobby which has a door I keep closed for various reasons. I would like my thermostat to be moved somewhere move central in my home but mu Landlords engineer said wired thermostats cant be moved. Do you have any advice as to how I can ensure my boiler is ready for the winter? Are these steps that I must hire a professional for?
