  • How do I remove cement from a pavement?

Due to some recent building work at my home, some cement that was being mixed on my pavement has now left the pavement by my property discoloured. So far I cannot remove it. Nothing I have tried has had any effect so far! Is there any way to remove this effectively?

Patio edges far away from the wall

My builders did the paving stones patio, edges fixed in the mortar. However, they didn't put the edging aligned with the house but 10-20cm away from the wall (different distance in different places). I'm worried that in case of rain it's going to fill with water. It seems to me like they squared it so it was easier for them to lay it and they don't have to cut it. They say that's the reason it's supposed to be done, but no logical explanation. I'm not a specialist, but is there any other reason why it was done this way?

    Driveway extension-cost

I'm looking for ballpark figures for a driveway extension. I understand it's difficult without seeing it in oerosn but would like to know how much cash I'm looking at having to save for it, roughly. It's to extend an existing single driveway into a double. The area to be converted is currently covered in loose gravel, about 120 millimetres deep, with soft earth underneath. The area is also sloped towards the house at about a ten degree gradient. It's around eleven square metres in total. I've already been granted permission for a dropped kerb and am awaiting a separate quote for that too.
