Hi, I'm just wondering what is the best brand or store to go with to buy a marking gauge from?
Fire surround to be built
How much for someone to make a tall fire surround with mirror insert and curved top from MDF or pine as it will be painted. I have an old surround with mirror that is too big for the chimney width but want something similar but one that will fit.
Tiled window sill
Bay window tiled sill is broken. Can this be replaced with either pvc or wood. How much would it cost. Thanks

Sanding or Planing
I have a raised bed made of railway sleepers (it's been there years). It seems to have moved slightly and the garden gate now catches and can't be opened without real force. Should I sand or plane the railway sleeper? Or the gate?

Help! Skirting board has come away at one end
Hi guys, I've recently fitted 1.5m of skirtingboard to a small section of wall in our lounge. I decided to use no nails, which has worked brilliantly apart from one end which has come away from the wall slightly. I'm thinking that I should screw the end down, but am a little concerned that the debris (wood/concrete) from the new hole I need to make will get between the skirting and wall, therefore stopping me from screwing it to the wall. I hope this makes sense. Thanks.
Door frame sealing
Hi, I painted my wooden, stable front door and noticed that the door frame has been installed and gaps sealed with transparent sealant. It has been done by the previous owners a few years ago. I wanted to seal the gaps with something to prevent water and cold air getting into the porch. I looked for a proper gap filler. What would you use which looks better than self-expandable foam?
Expected Quote For An External Door
I have an external hardwood door which needs replacing, this includes fitting a new door frame, letterbox, locks and also an extra panel on top of the door and a 2” x 1” pain of glass to be inserted I’d like to know roughly how much I should expect to be charged for this job (excluding parts). Thank you
