Extend the kitchen in my restaurant, remove one of the plaster walls and we want to extended further in the front so it gives us more space in the kitchen. How much will be the cost?
If my foundations are to be 2m deep, is it OK to use poured concrete? Or should I be looking at piling or reinforced concrete?
We are doing a small extension (4m2) and wondered if you can guide us on depth of footings necessary for a single storey extension, with flat roof, on a concrete slab. There are two perpendicular walls to build as it joins the main house. And would you suggest an expansion strip at the wall joint or Key in to existing brickwork? Thankyou for your help.
Our house was extended at some point to add a sun room to the back of the house. The original rear window was left in the back wall to let in light to the kitchen. It doesn't look very pretty and the sun room feels tacked on. What's the cheapest way to remodel it and modernise it slightly? What would a builder suggest?
How long do gravel and sand brick foundations tend to last?
Hi, Is it ok to block up first floor external air vents? They let in cold air and outside noise. What's the best way to do this? Feels like it could be a DIY/handy person job. What materials should be used. Many thanks. AL
Should I use a waterproofing compound on my home’s exterior brickwork? What are the pros and cons and is it okay to add this DIY? Is it expensive?
How soon before putting my house on the market should I have it power washed to maximize its kerb appeal? I really want to wow potential buyers. Thanks!
I have soil/mud appearing at the brick work which runs along side of my living room wall on outside. Inside my wall has cracked always along where skirting board is and has pulled away from wall also flooring looks as though it has dropped with gapping . I do have rising damp , is this now structural? Thankyou
Had a homebuyers survey and this was urgent Part of the roof void has been covered with what appears to be a non-breathable sarking felt. This has been improperly installed over the top of the timber battens, allowing and moisture caught by the felt to penetrate the timber causing rot. Is this a big issue and what is the potential cost. 3 bed house
