Recourse on a leaking roof job?
I had a leak coming from my roof, down behind the fascia and leaking into my house I had a roofer come out and he says that it might be a few slates and some repointing. He came out and suggested that repointing the ridge tiles would cost £180 including broken slates. I asked if it would fix the leak He said he couldnt guarentee it as the slates are in bad condition. I phoned someone for a second opinion, he didnt get back to coming around which left me with the first guy who came out He told me to call him if the leak still came through The roof the following two days was still leaking down the same area He said he will come and repoint ''some bricks'' Have i any recourse here?
Convert Bathroom to Bedroom
Hello Everyone, I'm thinking of converting an upstairs bathroom (tiled walls and floor) to a bedroom. Whilst doing this, I am also thinking of adding a small ensuite + toilet in the upstairs (next to the new converted bedroom). The upstairs is currently two big bedrooms and a decent sized bathroom; at the end of the project, it'll be two big bedrooms, one small bedroom and one small ensuite. There's a big bathroom on the ground floor. Is this possible?

Shell Side extension
I want to build a 20 metre squared side extension in the south east of England. 1 window either side and a flat roof. 3.5M RSJ to connect it up to the current house. i wanted subfloor, hot and cold water pipes along with soil and waste pipe connected up. Everyone seems to talk in shovels and half bags but I can’t tell what that translates to in real life. So what I hope is a simple question: how many shovels are in a bag of cement? And how heaped is that?

How do I find a good multi-skilled builder? Are there many or do most builders have a specialism these days?
Plans for loft conversion
What plans do I need for a dormer loft conversion. Truss roof, built in 2013, 3 bed semi detached, permitted development. I think an architect may be a bit overkill for what I am trying to achieve. I was thinking building regulation plans or can I just do a building notice? I assume I will also need a structural engineer to do the calcs.
Garage Door Conversion
I am looking at purchasing a property where the integral garage has been converted into a cinema room with a false wall behind the garage door. Is it possible to convert the garage door to a window and external wall so that the cinema room could then be used as a bedroom?
