  • Identifying where damp is coming from

I’m looking for someone to advise where the damp is coming from and if work is needed to rectify problem. It may be coming from the attic where the extractor fan pipe from the bathroom lies. The damp is along a bedroom ceiling where it joins the wall above a window in an 8yr old house.

    Removing rusted nail and screws?

Is there a drill bit that drills around them, like an apple corer? Grabbing the nails is impossible, they crumble. This is in a basement with damp walls and they wick moisture. I have to remove them before tanking.

    Replace Floor Joists

We have a living room that is 13'8"x9'9" with floor joists that attach to the neighbouring house, so that when the neighbours children are jumping around we can feel the vibration in our living room. Is it possible to remove and replace the joists so that they run the opposite way and if so how much is this likely to cost approximately? Thanks

    Watertite alternatives for basement?

I plan on waterproofing a moldy basement with Watertite on the brick walls but it costs £65 / 5kg. Is there anything cheaper? I believe tanking slurry is the wrong approach because the floor is made of stone slabs that are damp and I plan on sealing it with polyurethane or epoxy after filling any cracks. Replacing the floor isn't an option. The walls aren't running with water, but mold will grow on the bricks.
