Capping stone steps

Can stone steps be topped/capped with wider pieces of stone to make them easier to walk up and down?

"Cld possibly epoxy stone onto the existing, similar to indenting depending on the state of existing steps."

"No because the individual step bases become not stable enough for the Larger Capped Steps..
