Can you paint a satellite dish?

Is it safe to paint a satellite dish? I’d like to add the logo of my favourite football team.

Yes you can paint a satellite dish. Matt paint is recommended.

Hi Adam, 

Yes as the other engineers have said you should use matte (non-glossy) paint.

That may not make sense to you because the signals are supposed to reflect, but matte paint is better because it avoids stray reflections that can degrade the signal.

Yes, just don't paint the lnb which is the device at the end of the dish with the wires coming out

You can paint a satellite dish with a special spray but it will always slightly reduce the gain by approximately 2db in signal level.

Ye its safe if you just it for external wall deco and not bothered about getting a signal if you do I would use a gloss spray paint so it still able to reflect a signal
