Can I fit a plug socket on here

Guys got a lightswitch in my living room that leads to 3wires in the middle of the chimney breast. Can I connect a plug socket here so I can plug my TV into this?

"The simple answer is No. As the lighting circuit is protected by a 6amp Kcb or fuse, which is less than what a plug is rated at 13amps."

"No you can’t light switch has 1.5mm cable and for sockets you require a 2.5mm cable. If there is another socket point next to the chimney breast you can possibly pick the cable from there."

"With the information provided, this is a no.

I would imagine that the cable leading from the light switch used to have a light at the other end of it, which has since been removed.

If you can see the end of the cable, has it been terminated to a safe standard? Please ensure this has been checked by a competent/skilled person."

"In short, no. Best to spur off a ring circuit as it will have the correct size wire and have the correct protective device at the consumer unit. Best bet is to get an electrician in to take a look and recommend options."

"Hi. The cable sizing would be too small to carry the amps required to power a TV thus causing the breaker to trip. The cable is designed for lighting circuits. You need a 2.5mm twin and earth to carry the rampage required from either a designated radial or ring circuit."
