"Better off with 1 4mm if short distance or 6mm if more than 10 metres as a guide"

"I would say not this sounds more like a ring circuit. If you have a cooker switch then it should have a 6.0 or 10.0 mm cable which would be ok"

"2.5mm twin and earth cable for 4.8kw double Oven. The current carrying capacity of the 2.5mm twin and earth cable is dependant on the method of installation as on o.s.g variable
And it also depends on the ambient temperature
Better off use 6mm2 as it is usually used for Cooker"

"What's the actual question?

Regardless, 4.8kW is equal to about 20amp with a nominal voltage of 240v.
Current Carrying Capacity of 2.5mm Twin&Earth is 28amp or 42amp on a ring. So Ib / In / Iz requirements are met.

Therefore, yes, it should be fine. But also should befused down to a 20amp MCB or RCBO."

"Hi,

Basically a 4.8kw oven is around 20.8 amps you should not spur off kitchen ring to feed the oven as there a very good chance you will trip your electric if your are cooking and using appliances at the same time. The 2.5mm cable takes 27 amps clipped direct so that's fine but in modern regulations anything over 2kw goes on it own supply. If there is a cooker supply of some sort you could use that but you really need to consult an electrician."

"4800/230=20.8 amps so no problem with using 2.5mm twin and earth, for best practice however consider wiring to its own mcb (20 amps) and not from an existing ring main,"

"Simple answer to this is a no. Anything significantly above 2kW shouldn't be permanently connected to a ring final circuit.

Extended answer directly from the regs below

Appendix 15 of BS7671 (wiring regs) covers ring final circuit arrangements and states ''The load current in any part of the circuit should be unlikely to exceed for long periods the current carrying capacity of the cable. This can generally be achieved by (iii) connecting cookers, ovens and hobs with a rated power exceeding 2kW on their own dedicated radial circuit.''"

"Hi without being a teck yes it's fine to plug in to your 32A supply"
