"Yes, you can use slabs and gravel for a permeable drive covering 5 square meters. This type of driveway can be a great option as it allows water to drain through, reducing surface water runoff and helping with drainage. Here's how you can go about it:

1. **Preparation:** Prepare the area by ensuring it is level and compacted to provide a solid base for the slabs and gravel.

2. **Laying the Slabs:** Place the slabs evenly across the area, leaving small gaps between them to allow water to pass through.

3. **Adding Gravel:** Fill the gaps between the slabs and cover the remaining area with gravel. The gravel allows water to filter through and reach the ground beneath.

4. **Edging:** Consider using edging material like timber or metal to contain the slabs and gravel and give a neat finish to the driveway.

5. **Maintenance:** Periodically check and refill the gravel as needed to maintain the permeability of the driveway.

This combination of slabs and gravel can create a visually appealing and functional permeable drive for your space. It's a good eco-friendly choice that can help with drainage and reduce water runoff."

"Yes you can but I would advise to put down a sub base if you are parking on it as well or it will sink over time"

"You will need to have a sub base of type 1 for strength if you don’t do a base the slabs will crack and you will have to redo all again"

"Good sub base and full bed (as always) to ensure the slabs don’t crack or move"

"Yes
Make sure that the hardcore and sand cement mix are well compacted"

"anything can be used as long the substructure is solid enough. You need to give down past topsoil, lay a membrane (terram) then add the required amount of crushed concrete/type one, compacted with a 'wacker plate' to just below your finished hieght. Then lay whatever you want. 10mm gravel looks better but gets into shoes and car tyres but 20mm stone is harder to walk on ! slabs can be bedded on sharp sand cement bed. Make sure to PVA the back of the slabs before laying.
It's all down to the preparation of the sub base.
I hope this helps.

": A deep layer of gravel keeps the weeds out

That's why the depth of your gravel path is so important. With at least 2 inches of gravel, seeds are less likely to get enough light to germinate"

"Hi yes you can but ensure the paving is laid on a solid bed to make sure the don’t move and a solid sub base and any heigh levels near the house to be finshed 150ml below dpc
Makes sure the gravel has a solid sub base also"
