Boarding over loft for storage

What type of boards do I need to board over a loft for storage?

"A more professional way to board your loft is to make sure the existing insulation in the lost is not over compressed. So the better way to do this is to get upstand from existing ceiling joists, install them at 600mm centres. then get the T&G boards and lay them over the upstands which should be screwed to the ceiling joist.

This upstand legs gives you enough height over your insulation and a stable base for your boards.

"18-22mm chipboard, tongue and groove flooring is best. You can actually buy the flooring in small packs for loft spaces."

"You can use 18mm T&G boards and stag them like brickwork. That gives you extra strength on floor joists."
