Blocked underground rainwater drain

My external metal down pipe draining rainwater from the gutters rusted and has now been replaced. Apparently the reason for the rusting was a blockage in the underground pipework. The company who replaced the downpipe recommended calling dyno-rod but my neighbour has suggested that we could fit - a downpipe spout which can carry the water a short distance away from the house. Might this be an adequate short and long term solution??

"You would be better off getting the drain unblocked - high pressure jetting as it is there for a reason. The other option is no good as heavy rainfall it will just cause flooding as it won’t be going into a drain."

"Having the water taken away from the property down a spout is better than having it flooding against the wall. However this will just flood your garden if you just let it spill onto the lawn.

Getting the drain cleaned will be the best long term solution."
