"The biggest problems by far is they will rot. Even if treated regularly they eventually rot but it does slow the process down"

"Rotting from the bottom you will have to keep up with paint treatment to keep it from getting bad"

"The biggest issue would be the base of the posts would start to rot away (and eventually snap) , also my advice is try to stay away from slated fences they tend to be quite flimsy to start with (it's just their nature) it is understandable that the cost of a fence made out of thick timber would skyrocket compared to a slated one .. but the quality of it is also exponentially increased ."

"Maintenance every year of painting them, rot on wooden posts,"

"Woden fencing is fine and should last many years. However the posts are prone to rotting where they meet the soil. The life d a wooden post can be extended using a post saver or suitable paint to the part of the post that is in the ground
The exception to this would be Jackson’s fencing, although a lot more expensive, the wooden posts carry a twenty five year guarantee against rot / failure"
