"Get a wall scraper with a sharp blade , go across wood hip so it shaved the chips off then soak with warm water , ensure electric sockets don’t get wet ( cover with masking tape ) then after water soaked in start scrapping"

"Steamer should work but problem with wood chip it comes off in small bits so time consuming ,if it has layers of old paint you might be able to get behind the paper for easier removal"

"Steam strippers are the best due to natural steam

Chemicals should always be used safety & may cause skin reactions

Always wear correct ppe , Gloves , goggles mask with filters

Hope this helps"

"Steamer and alot of patience I'm afraid. Just be careful what's behind the paper as thar type of paper would of been used to hide problems, dodgey plaster work, plus the old lath and plaster work does fall apart if you steam it to much. If in doubt call a trade person round to have a look for you."
