best wall to make for cedar clad

Hi, I want to know what is the best wall make up for cedar clad  for a new build, just need for one front face  wall. I am wondering if a cavity wall plus cedar on top will be overkill. I will go for cavity brick wall all round three sides, and this would be for front face, just deciding what will work? Any ideas, need to meet building regs also. Need insulation inside also. Can I do just single brick inside, insulation  and outside go straight in with cedar? Thoughts please.

You can do a timber frame front facing with insulation in and the wood directly on to the timber frame

In this situation  the wall you want to be cladded in cedar does not need to be rendered 

Best practice is to batten the wall insulate and clad the wall remember theses walls are cavity and have insulation in between the cavity the external is an extra layer

A cavity wall with an inner and outer skin is best. This can be in concrete block externally and lightweight block internally with 50mm insulation or 100mm full-fill insulation in the cavity.
On the external skin, batten it out and then fix your cedar cladding to this with screws or ring shanked nails/
