Best treatment to remove carpet stains

I’m finding it difficult to remove a coffee stain from the carpet on the upstairs landing. What solution or treatment could I use to get rid of it?

"1. Blot the stain with a clean, white cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the coffee as possible.
2. Mix a solution of mild dish soap and water (1 teaspoon of dish soap to 1 cup of water).
3. Apply the solution to the stain, then blot with a clean cloth to lift the stain.
4. If the stain persists, mix equal parts of white vinegar and water and apply it to the stain. Blot again with a clean cloth.
5. Rinse the area with water and blot dry."
