How beneficial to energy efficiency would cavity wall insulation be? What other advantages would it offer, aside from keeping my home warmer for less?

"It's very good at increasing the insulation. Check out any company before using them as there's a lot of cowboys who'll ruin your home."

"Firstly before you go ahead there are also negatives involved.
Get good installers and quality material to do the job.

Cavity wall insulation offers several benefits that can enhance the comfort and efficiency of your home:
1. Energy Savings: By reducing heat loss through your walls, cavity wall insulation can significantly lower your heating bills. It’s estimated that around one-third of the heat in an uninsulated home escape through the walls.
2. Improved Comfort: Insulating your walls helps maintain a more consistent indoor temperature, making your home more comfortable year-round.
3. Reduced Carbon Footprint: Using less energy for heating reduces your home’s carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable environment.
4. Cost-Effective: The initial investment in cavity wall insulation can pay for itself within a few years through energy savings. For example, a detached house could save up to £275 per year on heating bills.
5. Increased Property Value: Energy-efficient homes are often more attractive to buyers, potentially increasing your property’s market value.
6. Soundproofing: Insulation can also help reduce noise from outside, making your home quieter and more peaceful.

HOWEVER
Common problems with cavity wall insulation include
• Moisture penetration leading to dampness and structural issues.
• Cracks in external walls rendering insulation ineffective.
• Poor installation causing more harm than good.
• Unsuitable properties for cavity wall insulation.
• Degraded insulating material."
