"You have loose cartridge on one of your cold mains taps causing banging noise."

"Noise will occur if water pressure is too high, simply because it is being forced through pipework too quickly and is crashing around. Water pressure should be between 1 to 1.5 bar. Any higher and your pipes and appliances will be overworked and can become damaged"

"The pipe work probably isn’t clipped up, this will secure the pipe work, as stop the pipes banging.
Or if the pipe work is running under the floor may need some insulation around them."

"Hi. Occasionally with the main stop valve. a sudden surge from closing a tap or a toilet stopping filling etc can cause a loud bang. This is sometimes due to the jumper on the stop tap moving suddenly. The first thing to check is whether or not the stop valve is fully open. If it isnt then fully open it and then turn it back just a quarter turn."
