Algae on render

Is algae growing on render a problem? Can it damage the render? And if I wash it off, how do I stop it coming back?

"Alge or lichen normaly grows in damp or north facing walls .wear gloves and a maskand scrub the area with bleach leave fore a day or 2 and reapete if badd .thouraly wash and scub with cold water . This method can be used on mould as well"

"Algae can be a problem over time it could end up cracking the render, I would personally get a rubbing iron and brush it off with that."

"It’s is not a good sign as algae needs a lot of water ie damp conditions to grow so chance’s are the area is getting exceeds water from some we’re Ie badly fitting down pipe bad drain guttering so addressing the damp and water issue should stop the growth"

"If its a dry finish it will always come, k rends the worse for it. Bleach is good to kill it. External board insolation is better, its a plastic finish, easy maintenance"
